The Alabama commit and Saints starting QB AJ McCarron is starting to get roughed up as they get into region play. St. Pauls is the defending 5A state champ, but has to rebuild after losing several key players. This has been tough on McCarron who often tries to take the game over which leads to turnovers.
McCarron only had three completions for 55 yards and a touchdown in a 41-7 beating by no. 6 Russellville.
He did have one highlight on the night. In the second half, he got flushed out of the pocket and threw a 25-yard strike down the sideline in a dead run that ended in a 49-yard touchdown pass.
