Kirkpatrick Honored

Gadsden City DB and no.1 recruit in the state was chosen as defensive player of the week by ASWA. Dre picked off three passes against Etowah last Friday. Apparently, one of the picks was returned for a touchdown but brought back because of a penalty.

Dre's Big Weekend

We posted a few days ago that Dre Kirkpatrick and teammate Kendall Kelly would be in Athens for the Bama/Georgia game. No news yet on whether the win had any influence on an early commit. They sure could use him against receivers like the Bulldog's Green.

Friday night, Dre had his biggest game of the season. He had three pics by the middle of the third quarter to help set up a 35-6 road win over Etowah.

His blog should update within the next couple days so we'll see what he thought about his trip to Athens.

Tide Commit with Solid Night

Anthony Orr
DE/Sparkman
6-5, 260

Orr has been doubled by backs and tight ends all season but powered his way through Hazel Green's O-line to grab two sacks and several quarterback hurries in a 41-0 rout.

Orr finished his junior year with 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He is ranked as the no.13 recruit in the state by rivals.com and no.9 on the Bham News Super Seniors list.
